Meet the genius behind some of your favorite cleaning products!
James started his career as a product development chemist and spent his first 20 years at Lever Brothers, where he became head of new product development. It was at Lever Brothers that James directed the development of the first fabric softener sheet, Snuggles.
He was also one of the inventors of Dove Soap!
After leaving Lever Brothers in 1968, James independently developed Carpet Fresh, the first rug and room deodorizer. When he sold Carpet Fresh to Airwick, it did 100 million dollars in sales its first year and created the rug and room deodorizer category in supermarkets.
Chatham Window Washing Founded in 2012
Fast forward to 2012, when Mark McLaughlin founded Chatham Window Washing. He wasn’t happy with any of the window cleaning solutions on the market, so who did he turn to? The expert product developer in his family of course!
